Dr. Adamu Sambo

Trustee

Dr Adamu Sambo is a medical doctor and a

practicing paediatric consultant in the United

Kingdom. He graduated from Ahmadu Bello

University Zaria, Nigeria, and trained and

started his medical career in Northern Nigeria.

He holds Diplomas in Public Health and

Medical Education.


He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH). Dr Sambo has a specialist interest in paediatric nephrology. He is skilled in diagnosis and management of children with kidney conditions including congenital abnormalities of kidney and urinary tract, bladder disorders, acute kidney injury, and chronic kidney disease.


Dr Sambo is passionate about healthcare delivery in economically challenged health environments. Through collaborative efforts he has partnered with multiple charities and organisations, promoting local healthcare delivery initiatives in Nigeria. An additional benefit to this experience has been the opportunity to develop and engage in strategies aimed at improving access to clean water.


Dr Sambo has a deep knowledge of health and social inequalities, and understands the importance of addressing the challenges and detrimental effects of water scarcity in rural and poorly developed parts of the world. In his capacity as a board member of Sahel Initiative, he is determined to work with like-minded people towards provision of sustainable safe water projects to communities around the world.
