On May 30, 2023, The Sahel Initiative completed three vital water projects across Kano State, delivering clean, reliable water to communities long affected by water scarcity.
- Kiru, a remote town in Kiru LGA, faced daily struggles accessing safe water.
- Medile, within the Kano metropolitan area, endured acute shortages affecting homes and public
spaces.
- Tiga, in Bebeji LGA, needed a reliable water source to serve both residents and worshippers at
Tiga Central Masjid.
Three strategically placed water projects were implemented to meet domestic, health, and religious needs — improving access in homes, public areas, and places of worship. These projects now provide safe, accessible water for hundreds of people, reducing health risks, supporting daily living, and ensuring worshippers at Tiga Central Masjid have clean water for ablution and drinking.
